Texas Lawyers answering the question, "is Coronavirus an act of God?"

Texas lawyers will be litigating whether or not Coronavirus is an act of God for years to come. Will the effects of the Coronavirus excuse you from having to perform under your contract? Will the effect of the Coronavirus allow people you have contracts with to escape liability for breaching those contracts? As in many aspects of the law, the answer varies by business, individual and even contract.

Many contracts have a force majeure clause that defines acts of God and includes pandemics. Other contracts simply make no reference or even a passing reference to whether or not acts of God are excused; much less whether or not a pandemic is excused.

No two situations are alike in each one needs its own solution. Give us a call and let's talk about your situation.
